Useful information regarding Coronavirus

Please find below some information regarding coronavirus. It is important to stress that there is currently no cause for concern. However we take the health and safety of our pupils and staff very seriously and we will keep you informed about any developments.

The following advice regarding returning travellers has been shared by Public Health Northern Ireland – you can get up to date information on their website.

Returning from a holiday

Based on this rapidly evolving situation, travellers who have visited countries considered to be at higher risk of COVID-19 are being asked to self-isolate EVEN IF THEY HAVE NO SYMPTOMS.

Please make your way to your residence, stay indoors and call the NHS helpline on 111 for advice, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE SYMPTOMS.

Northern Ireland now has full access to the NHS 111 helpline service on coronavirus. Callers should press 1 when they are advised. This service is provided in Northern Ireland solely for coronavirus guidance and not for other conditions.

The areas below have been identified because of the volume of air travel from affected areas, understanding of other travel routes and number of reported cases. This list will be kept under review.

If you have returned from these specific areas since February 19, you should call NHS111 and stay indoors and avoid contact with other people even if you do not have symptoms:

  • Iran
  • Specific lockdown areas in Northern Italy as designated by the Government of Italy
  • Special care zones in South Korea as designated by the Government of the Republic of South Korea
  • Hubei province (returned in the past 14 days)

If you have returned from these areas since February 19th and develop symptoms, however mild, you should stay indoors at home and avoid contact with other people immediately and call NHS111. You do not need to follow this advice if you have no symptoms.

  • Northern Italy
  • Vietnam
  • Cambodia
  • Laos
  • Myanmar
